Ten on Tuesday (4)

It’s Ten on Tuesday time! Head over to Roots and Rings to see other people’s answers.

1. Are you usually late, early, or right on time?
I used to always be early or right on time for everything, but in the last few years I’ve started being a few minutes late at all times. I hate it because a) I think it’s rude if I’m supposed to be meeting people and b) it means I’m turning into my mother and the fact that she is always rushing to make it to places on time used to grind my gears, so it’s irritating that I now seem to be the same way. I must fight it!

2. What is your middle name?
According to my passport and Social Security I do not have one. I sometimes use Louise, which was my grandmother’s middle name and I have been half heartedly trying to change it to that officially. On my Birth Certificate it says my grandmother’s maiden name as my middle name, but I got teased for it a lot when I was young so removed it as soon as I could.

3. What are the last 4 digits of your cell phone number?
5272

4. How big is your bed?
Queen. I love it.

5. What are you allergic to?
HA! What am I NOT allergic to? I am allergic to air, grass, dust, cedar, cats (make me want to die), dogs, pretty much everything that people have to come across to function in society. I am constantly congested and it’s gross.

6. What is the first thing you do in the morning?
re-set my alarm for a little later (snooze isn’t my friend, I want an extra 30 minutes, not 3!)

7. What was your favorite TV show growing up?
I had a few, although I watched more movies than TV shows. Little House on the Prairie and Full House are the two that stand out in my memory. I was a paid up member of the Jodie Sweetin fan club and yes, I am embarrassed by that. When I got a little older I loved Beverly Hills 90210. I wanted to BE Kelly Taylor, even with all of her issues.

8. Will you, or did you, go to your 10 year high school reunion?
I don’t think we have one for my school, but if it wasn’t too difficult (I live on a different continent, currently) I’d go. That would be next year. When did I get so old?! I’m actually more attached to the school I went to prior to the one I “finished” at, I’d be more likely to make an effort to go to a reunion for that one. Reunions aren’t as big a deal in England.

9. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
Yes!

10. What, in your opinion, is the greatest invention? (You know, since sliced bread…)
Aside from the obvious (central heat, cars, the internet, etc.)…Google Maps. It provides me hours of entertainment, and is also useful.

  1. I LOVE your allergies answer! “pretty much everything people have to come across to function in society.” I mean, I’m sure it is really frustrating, but your way of wording it struck me as really funny 🙂

Also, I LOOOOOVE google maps! I wish I had remembered to put that one on my answers! I went to a random shoe store in Paris once that had tall sizes, and when a friend of mine wanted to find the store, I went on Google Maps Street View and virtually retraced my steps the day I found the shoe store (from a hotel room in Atlanta), and I found it on the street and could tell her how to get there. Insane!

    • haha yes it is highly frustrating to have such bad allergies, but I do also see the funny side in being allergic to things like AIR and GRASS and DUST! When the allergy doctor told me I was just like “uhhhhhhhh so I should go ahead and live in a bubble?” I’m hoping I can get allergy shots at some point and that they will help, or that I can find something else that works. Constant sniffeling isn’t so much cute.

I love your Google Maps story! It’s pretty much my go-to site when I’m bored, but it’s also so useful for directions and such. It’s definitely one of my Favorite Things.
