Ten on Tuesday (8)

It’s Tuesday, which is my least favorite day of the week. However, Tuesday also brings with it Ten on Tuesday, so…yay? Head over to Roots & Rings to check out other peoples answers. I really enjoyed this weeks questions.

1. If you could open any type of store/place of business (money is no obstacle), what would you open?
I was just talking to a friend about this. Whenever I see business space for lease I daydream about having a store of my own, but I have never once gotten to the part where I figure out what that store would sell!
I love the idea of running a non-profit that offers city kids the chance to get out in nature and do outdoor pursuits activities. I have also always loved the idea of a party planning business. I’m all over the place.

2. If all jobs paid equally, what occupation would you want? Why?
I haven’t figured that out yet, I have no idea what I really want to be when I grow up.

3. If you could be any animal in the world, what would you pick? Why?
I have an answer for which animal represents me (I had to give this at both training weeks when I was in student government – I said Lioness), but I’ve never thought about which animal I would actually be. Maybe a domestic cat? They get all the comforts of home and a lot of love and attention, but when they want to go off and do their own thing it is usually just accepted.

4. If offered one “service” free of charge, which would you choose? (chauffeur, maid, personal shopper, chef, etc.)
Maid, no question! I hate cleaning – it takes up so much time and it is never truly done. Although either a hair stylist or masseuse would be a very close second.

5. What is one habit, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to break?
Overanalyzing, taking things personally, and caring too much what other people’s perception of me is. Procrastination, too. That’s the biggest one.

6. What is one thing that no matter how many you own, you still love to buy all the time?
Shoes! Specifically, round or almond toe platform pumps. I love shoes.

7. Out of all the game shows (past and present), which would you want to be a participant on and play?
Real World/Road Rules challenge – if you could take out the being on TV part. I want to do all the challenges, and go to the exotic locations. Minus the eating gross things challenges, they can keep those.

8. If you could play the lead role in any movie that’s already been made, which movie would you pick?
Clueless, although I would NEVER be as good a Cher as Alicia Silverstone.

9. Name 5 things on your bucket list (things you want to do before you die).
In no particular order:
Bungee jump off a bridge in New Zealand (um yes, I did pick the location after seeing Jason’s season of the bachelor. Shutup.)
Go to Australia
Drink a beer in a beer hall in Germany
Live walking distance from a beach for a while
Have a family (husband and child/ren) (OK, I lied, the rest weren’t in order, but this is number one. It is also the most dependant on other people/God/The Universe)

10. Which one of your birthdays was the best? What did you do that day?
I have mixed emotions about my birthday. It is a week after the anniversary of my fathers death, so I am always a little depressed at that time of year, aside from my standard “depression” at getting old(er). I’ve had some really crappy birthdays, and some good ones. My 21st probably stands out as the ‘best’. I didn’t go out and get crazy, instead I went on vacation to Florida with my mom for a combo beach/Disney trip. On my actual birthday we were on Sanibel Island, a place that we used to come to with my dad, so it has sentimental significance. The day started with a bloody mary and ended with a frothy pink cocktail at The Bubble Room. Between those two drinks I did a whole lot of nothing, lying on a lounger between the pool and the ocean, and it was perfect.

Responses

  1. Disney is the happiest place on earth!

By they way, your link never works when I click it on the ToT thing. Yours is the only one that has problems. I have no idea why.

    • I just looked and it’s because there are two “http://” ‘s! I’ll be sure to fix it next time! In fact, I may go back and add myself again now.

I love Disney! That was I think my first time going to Disney World (we thought it was an appropriate “goodbye” to childhood for my 21st birthday) but I grew up visiting California all the time and we always tried to go to Disneyland. The magic is still there for me! One of the things I really hope for when I have kids is that they appreciate Disney as much as I do…but of course they will probably think it’s lame haha.

  2. I LOVE your game show thing! “minus the being on TV part… and eating gross things” LOL

Also, I’m with you on all of the items in #5.

    • haha I just really have no desire to be on TV! but I love the idea of going to a cool place with a bunch of people close to my age (uhhh though I guess these days they are probably a few years younger) and doing crazy outdoorsy activities/challenges!

  3. I’m not at all biased (much!) but going to Australia is def. worth having on your bucket list! It’s home for me and I think they greatest place – although there is loads I haven’t seen and hope to when I move back. Beerhalls in Germany – now they’re also crazy fun.

    • Australia has always been on my “must go to” list! I grew up in England where (as I’m sure you know) tons of people took gap years and went there or traveled after uni and I swear there must be something in the water there because EVERYONE came back talking about emigrating! Even my mom/mum came back talking about moving there after she went! Craziness.
